RÓISÍN O'HARA

ARTIST INFO

Name: Róisín O'Hara
Origin: Dublin, Ireland

Birthday: 31 December 1995
Genre: Pop / Dance

Róisín O'Hara is an emerging Irish singer from Dublin, known for her emotionally resonant storytelling and haunting vocal presence.

Her debut single, Dose of Fame, explores the darker side of celebrity life - paparazzi chases, media fabrications, and the psychological toll of living under constant scrutiny. The song’s powerful chorus, “Running from the shadows”, became an instant hook for listeners worldwide.

Interestingly, Dose of Fame was written and produced by former paparazzo Marcus Posthumus, who brings an insider’s perspective to the track. Posthumus also produced O'Hara’s follow-up single, School Crush - a nostalgic song about a long-lost high school love.

Originally penned by Posthumus in the early '90s for his own high school crush, the song lay untouched for decades until it was reimagined and reworked for O'Hara. Some of the original lines were preserved in the final version, including:

"Remembering the last day of school, Your blonde long hair waving good bye, The school bell played the final chime, You turned to me one last time..."

Right now O'Hara has released her next single, Magdalen in Ecstasy - a cover of the cult classic by Lucia Caravella in relation to the world famous painting "Magdalene in Ecstasy" from Italian artist Michelangelo Caravaggio. Now live on Spotify etc.

[Verse]

Saw him standing at the corner light

Same old grin but the years took flight

Twenty years Oh where'd they go

Memories hit like a late-night show

[Verse]

Hair's a little thinner, Eyes still the same

His laugh like thunder, Calling my name

Back in school, He was my every tune

Now here he is under the silver moon

[Chorus]

Time's a thief, But it left us here

On the same street after all these years

He said: "Remember that math class seat?"

I said: "How could I forget the beat?"

[Verse]

We talked of dreams that didn't quite grow

And the roads we took we didn't know

He said: "I thought of you once or twice"

And I laughed "Stop with the sugar and spice!"

[Bridge]

The city buzzed as the moment froze

Our laughter echoed till the sun arose

Years became seconds, Hearts rewind

It's strange how it feels like borrowed time

[Chorus]

Time's a thief, But it left us here

On the same street after all these years

He said: "Remember that math class seat?"

I said: "How could I forget the beat"

[Verse]

Than he said: You haven't changed through all these years, His eyes of blue filled with tears, Remembering the last day of school

Your blonde long hair waving good bye

The school bell played the final chime

You turned to me one last time

[Soft Bridge]

Time's a thief, But it left us here

On the same street after all these years

He said: "Remember that math class seat?"

I said: "How could I forget the beat?"

[Chorus]

Your face the same [Echoing Vocals]

Memories hit like a tidal flow

Twenty years but feels like a day

The time took us away

Oh-Oh-Oh

Schoolyard dreams now in view

The years have gone but not me and you

[Verse]

We walked the road down hand in hand

As teens like twenty years ago

He said: "I never dared to talk to you"

And I laughed "You remained the shy boy though"

[Bridge]

The city buzzed as the moment froze

Our laughter echoed till the sun arose

Years became seconds

Hearts rewind

It's strange how it feels like borrowed time

[Chorus]

Your face the same [Echoing Vocals]

Memories hit like a tidal flow

Twenty years but feels like a day

The time took us away

Oh-Oh-Oh

Schoolyard dreams now in view

The years have gone but not me and you

[Outro]

Saw you there on the busy street

Same old smile, Laugh so sweet

The years have come

The years have gone

But my heart still beats where you belong

Oh-Oh-Oh

Schoolyard dreams now in view

The years have gone but not me and you

Schoolyard dreams now in view

The years have gone but not me and you
